A tree with folklore or mythology

The well beside this fabulous old ash in Miskaun, County Leitrim is renowned for its cure for warts and other skin conditions. It was believed that if an item of clothing or a rag was dipped into the well water, tied to the tree and a small prayer said, their condition would be cured as the rag rots away. Tradition has it that St Patrick said mass under the branches of this tree, which would make it over 1600 years old!
