Sitka spruce is among the largest species of conifers in the world. They can grow to towering heights of up to 200 feet (60 meters) or more, with trunk diameters reaching several feet. The needles of Sitka spruce are needle-like, short, and sharply pointed. They are arranged individually on small pegs along the branches and are typically blue/green in colour. Sitka spruce cones are cylindrical in shape and pendulous, hanging downward from the branches. They are relatively large compared to other spruce cones, ranging from 5 to l0 centimetres in length and have thin, flexible scales.
Up to 100m.
