RDS Spring Awards - Closing date 31st July 2020!

With just over two weeks to go, we are fast approaching the closing date for entries for this year’s Irish Forestry and Woodland Awards.

With a prize fund of €9,000 the awards promote the economic, environmental and social benefits of good forestry and farming. From magnificent historic woodlands, to innovative commercial forests, the awards reveal inspiring examples of the benefits and diversity of forestry in Ireland. The RDS is proud to play its role in highlighting the best in Irish forest and woodland management and showcase the vast potential that forestry offers rural Ireland.

There are three prize categories for the Awards (click below for application forms)

In addition to receiving a specially commissioned trophy the winner in each category will receive a cheque for €2,000. Each runner-up will receive €1,000 and an RDS Certificate of Merit.

Award winners will be announced at the 2021 RDS Spring Awards Lunch which will take place in the RDS Concert Hall next year.

Everyone with woodland is encouraged to enter as all woodlands, large or small, are of merit. Judges will have the option to visit all short-listed entries over the summer months. Having the judges visit your woodlands is one of the great benefits of entering the awards, as they are experienced foresters and can advise in the development of your woodlands. Application forms are available on the RDS website: www.rds.ie/springawards or via email from agriculture@rds.ie. The closing date for entries is Friday, July 31.
