In 2023, Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa partnered with the Tree Council of Ireland to support an inspiring local initiative at Crithir, a creative and wellbeing hub located in Drinagh, West Cork. The partnership brings together organisations with a shared commitment to sustainability, biodiversity, and strengthening connections between people and nature.
Set on a small working farm, Crithir combines creativity, wellbeing, farm-to-fork food, and nature-based experiences in a setting that encourages personal growth, community engagement, and environmental awareness. The planting of native trees complements this vision by creating a richer natural landscape that will continue to evolve for generations to come.
As part of a three-year collaboration, Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa is supporting the planting of approximately 3,000 native Irish trees on the Crithir site. The new woodland will enhance biodiversity, provide valuable habitat for wildlife, and contribute to the restoration of Ireland’s native tree cover, while creating an even more inspiring environment for visitors and the local community.
This partnership demonstrates how collaboration between businesses, charities, and community organisations can deliver lasting environmental and social benefits. Through initiatives such as this, the Tree Council of Ireland continues to work with partners across Ireland to create resilient landscapes, enrich local communities, and leave a positive legacy for future generations.
